Typical of many town gardens, this is situated behind a row of terraced Victorian houses.
The planting was an essential factor in the brief for this garden. To ensure privacy the planting scheme was designed to provide a screen from the neighbouring houses.
A natural stone terrace edged with reclaimed bricks matching
those of the house help to connect house and garden.
Despite the beds being reasonably narrow, the planting has
a feeling of fullness during the summer months as tall perennials,
grasses and shrubs have been used together with highly fragrant
plants. Winter structure comes from evergreen climbers, bamboos,
large leaved perennials, ferns and scented evergreen shrubs.
